87th Annual Cross Country Cycling Classic underway
The 87th Annual Cross Country Cycling Classic is underway on the George Price Highway.
The traditional Holy Saturday bicycle race is taking over one hundred riders from Belize City to San Ignacio town and back to the old capital, ending in front of the BTL Park on Newtown Barracks.
According to the president of the Belize Cycling Federation Dion Leslie, “6 past champions make up the field of over 100 riders, all with the dream of making history today.”

The annual Holy Saturday Cross Country Cycling Classic is the oldest bicycle race in this part of the world and is the biggest one-day sporting event.
This year, the defending champion, is not riding in the race, so we are assured of a new champion.
