By Patrick E. Jones on October 18, 2013
An American national believed to be a wanted man in the United States has been taken into custody by San Ignacio police.
Sources say the man, whose name cannot be released at this time, was picked up on a disorderly conduct incident on Burns Avenue in San Ignacio town on Thursday afternoon.
Indications are that he refused to give his name to authorities; but after his fingerprints were taken and forwarded to the US embassy where a searched revealed that he is listed as wanted and considered armed and dangerous.
The American national is expected to be turned over to the DEA or US Marshalls once the requisite paperwork has been completed.
