Three Belizeans caught up in cocaine bust in Mexico
By Patrick E. Jones on November 15, 2013
Three Belizean men are under arrest in Chetumal Quintana Roo, Mexico, after they were caught with about 900 grams of cocaine in their vehicle in the Subteniente López community near the Belize-Mexico border.
According to the Mexican newspaper Por Esto!, the suspected drug smugglers are Belizeans Michael Ashton Ramirez, Orlando Habet, Adelfo Ruperto Dzul and Mexican national Andres Lagos Freddy Vargas.
The men were detained on Thursday afternoon after Mexican Navy authorities found over a pound of cocaine in their gold-colored vehicle with Corozal license plates.
