Boat Accident on the Crooked Tree Lagoon; one dead
By Patrick E. Jones on January 31, 2014
A man died this morning when a boat he was traveling in was involved in a crash on the Crooked Tree Lagoon.
Several others were injured in the incident.
Emergency responders arrived at the scene shortly after the early morning incident and the injured were taken to the hospital for treatment.
Some people complained of headache, body pain and other injuries.
Reports say that two boats from the Belize National Coast Guard were carrying students and workers across the flooded lagoon when something went terribly wrong.
An investigation has now begun to determine exactly what led to the crash.
