Boat explosion leaves one man critically injured
Four men survived a boat explosion on Thursday afternoon in Belize City.
They are George Nicolas Gonzalez, 34; Romaldo Badillo, 59; Wallace Flowers, 41 and Steven Bradley, 52.
Police say that Bradley, arrived at the hangar area close to the Municipal Airstrip around one o’clock yesterday afternoon with his 31-foot skiff, intending to go to St. George’s Caye.
Police say that as Bradley and the other three men had put the skiff into the Sea, the engine exploded, resulting in varying degrees of burn injuries to Gonzalez, Badillo, Flowers and Bradley.
Police say that when they arrived at the scene of the incident, they saw a white skiff engulfed in flames and were told that the occupants had been taken to the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital.
Romaldo Badillo, according to police, is listed in a critical condition.
