Home invasion reported in San Pedro village, Corozal

Corozal police are investigating a home invasion that occurred on Wednesday morning in San Pedro village.
Police say that around 7:45 am on April 1, fifty two year old Rutilia Cob was having breakfast when two masked men entered her house.
Cob told police that one of the men pointed a handgun at her and demanded money.
When Cob told the intruders that she did not have any money, the men reportedly demanded jewelry.
Police say Cob handed over and assortment of jewelry valued at $2,500.
Police have since detained one person pending the outcome of their ongoing investigation.
