Placencia police nab American fugitive

Placencia, Stann Creek. Monday, May 11, 2015. An American national wanted in the State of Texas on child sex assault charges was captured late last week in Placencia village, Stann Creek.
Police in the coastal village picked up 43 year old William Elmer Pettijohn on the strength of an International Arrest Warrant issued by United States authorities.
According to reports, Pettijohn arrived in Belize on April 15 along with a female companion and had been living in Placencia right up until the time of his detention.
Pettijohn is wanted in Jones County, Texas for the crimes of child sex assault and human trafficking.
He has since been handed over to United States authority.
