Police mobile patrol retrieves revolver; youth arrested
Belize City, Belize. Thursday, May 28, 2015. Police in Belize City have recovered a .38 revolver with six live rounds and have arrested one man.
25 year old Al Jones, a resident of Cedar Street in Belize City has been charged for the offences of “kept firearm without a gun license and kept ammunition without a gun license.”
Authorities say that a mobile patrol was in the area of Antelope Street Extension around 7 o’clock last night when officers saw Jones.
Upon seeing the police patrol, Jones allegedly ran away and officers say that while they were pursuing Jones, they saw when he threw an object into a yard.
When the police caught Jones, he was taken back to the area where he reportedly threw the object.
That object turned out to be a .38 revolver containing 6 live .38 SPL rounds.
Al Jones was subsequently arrested and charged.
