Corozal man accused of trying to kill his wife

Santa Clara village, Corozal. Wednesday, June 17, 2015. A man from Santa Clara village in the Corozal district is in police detention, accused of the attempted murder of his wife.
The terrifying ordeal for the woman happened around seven thirty on Monday night.
The woman told police that she was assaulted by her husband, dragged by her hair and locked inside the kitchen where he allegedly threw kerosene on her and attempted to set her on fire.
Police say the woman’s injuries have been classified as harm.
The thirty four year old man is detained pending investigation and will face a charge of attempted murder in addition to other charges.
