Family dispute ends in multiple choppings
Punta Gorda, TOLEDO. Friday, November 13, 2015. A chopping incident on Wednesday night in the Toledo district landed three family members in the emergency room.
Daniel Co, Luis Co and Ormando Co who are residents of San Pedro Columbia village in rural Toledo, sustained chop wounds to their bodies during a family dispute on Wednesday night.
Police say that Daniel Co told authorities that his parents were involved in a heated domestic dispute when he and his brother intervened.
According to Daniel, that was when their father Luis Co reportedly got a machete and chopped his two sons.
Daniel Co sustained chop wounds to his left hand, his brother Ormando Co was chopped in the head, right hand, right knee, on his back and left hand.
The father, Luis Co sustained chop wounds to his head, right knee and shoulder.
All three men were taken to the Punta Gorda hospital for treatment.
Ormando Co has since been transferred to the Karl Heusner Memorial in Belize City for further treatment.
Luis Co was transferred to the Southern Regional Hospital, while Daniel Co was treated at the Punta Gorda hospital.
Police investigations continue.
