President-elect of Guatemala to call on Prime Minister Barrow
San Ignacio, CAYO.Friday, November 27, 2015. The president-elect of Guatemala Jimmy Morale will pay a courtesy call on Prime Minister Dean Barrow on Saturday.
President-elect Morales has been on a tour of the region calling on Heads of State and Government of SICA-member states.
A short press release from the Office of the Prime Minister says that Saturday’s meeting, being simply a courtesy call, is not expected to delve much into bilateral relations.
President-elect Morales earned himself much scorn from the Belizean people when he proclaimed during the campaign leading up to the presidential election that he would pursue Guatemala’s claim to Belizean territory.
He continued his rhetoric after he was elected to office.
