Policeman charged for crime of rape

Monday, December 28, 2015. San Ignacio, CAYO. West Vision/TNC: On November 27, 2015, Police Constable Luke Moriera was publicly cited as the Officer of the Month for going above and beyond the call of duty.

His superior officers voted him for the award because of his displayed courage and bravery.

But tonight, PC Moriera stands accused of of a heinous crime that threatens to not only efface the public accolade but seriously derail his law enforcement career.

TNC News was informed late this evening that PC Moriera has been charged for the crime of rape.

This follows a report by a woman that she was raped at gunpoint by a police officer inside of the San Ignacio police station.

PC Moriera is expected to be formally arraigned in the Magistrate’s Court shortly.
