A cold front is approaching the country
San Ignacio, CAYO. Saturday, January 2, 2016. West Vision. A cold front is approaching Belize and is expected to cross the country on Sunday and Sunday night.
Tonight will be cloudy at times, and then on Sunday, skies will be sunny with a few cloudy spells.
Showers will develop, first along the coast tonight and tomorrow morning, then over northern and inland areas on Sunday afternoon.
Winds are variable at 5-10 knots, and the sea state is slight to light chop.
Heading into Monday, expect cloudy skies with a few showers and periods of rain over most areas on Sunday night as the cold front crosses the country.
Low temperatures at dawn will be around 73 degrees Fahrenheit along the coast; 70 degrees Fahrenheit inland and 66 degrees Fahrenheit up in the hills.
High temperatures on Sunday will range from 84 degrees Fahrenheit along the coast, to 88 degrees Fahrenheit inland. It will be a comfortable 77 degrees Fahrenheit up at the exposed areas of the Mountain Pine Ridge and along the Maya Mountains in the south.
For the fishermen, a low tide occurs at 11:15 pm. A high tide comes in at 4:14 am on Sunday and another low tide is at 10:59 am, also on Sunday.
The sun will rise at 6:24 am on Sunday. Sunset is at 5:31 pm Sunday.
