Cristo Rey villager dies in traffic accident
San Ignacio, CAYO. Tuesday, March 22, 2016. The family of Cristo Rey village resident, thirty two year old Orlando Madrid is preparing to lay him to rest following his demise in a road traffic accident early on Monday morning.
Madrid was heading to San Ignacio just after one o’clock on Monday morning when the Ford Escort care he was driving overturned on the George Price Highway in front of the Windy Hill Resort.
Madrid was trapped under the car and died at the scene of the crash.
His body now awaits a post mortem examination.
Of note is that there have been many fatal incidents on this same stretch of the George Price Highway, and the San Ignacio police is asking motorists to be extremely careful when traversing this part of the road.
