Police find marijuana during Belize City operations
Belize City, BELIZE. Wednesday, March 23, 2016. The Belize Police Department continues its relentless pursuit of marijuana pushers.
And that pursuit took personnel from the Gang Suppression Unit to Saint Jude Street on Monday morning where they found a bag with four hundred and forty grams of weed tucked in a tree on an abandoned lot.
Police believe that the marijuana belonged to a known drug peddler who lives near the abandoned lot but since no one was present at the time of the discovery, the bag was taken and labeled as “found property.”
Twenty four hours later, the GSU conducted an operation in the Belama Phase 4 area of Belize City where they found over two pounds of marijuana hidden inside of a white bucket.
According to the GSU, they searched an overgrown lot among some mangrove that is behind the residence of a known drug peddler in the area.
That search led to the discovery of a bag containing 1,020 grams of marijuana.
No one was in the immediate area and the marijuana was labeled as “found property.”
