Belizeans honored by Queen Elizabeth II
Belmopan, CAYO. Tuesday, June 28, 2016. Eight Belizeans today received insignias from Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth the Second for their contribution to the community.
The awards were handed out at Belize House in Belmopan by the Acting Governor General Carlos Perdomo.
The official press release notes that the insignia of a Companion of the Order of Saint Michael and Saint George was presented to Michael Bowen for services to business and industry; Eleanor Hulse for services to Education; Dilicia Feinstein for services to business and the community.
The insignia of a Member of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire was given to Emelda August for services to nursing; Sarita Westby for services to education and the community; Juan Nunez for services to education and sport; Dr. Aaron Lewis for services to science; and Janet Gibson for services to environmental protection.
