Belize sends condolence message to Cuba
Belmopan, CAYO. Sunday, November 27, 2016. Prime Minister Dean Barrow has hailed the late former President of Cuba Fidel Castro Ruz as a “giant for the ages.”
Castro died on Friday night at the age of 90.
In a message of condolence sent to President Raul Castro, PM Barrow opened by saying that “you have lost your brother, the Cuban people have lost their avatar and humanity has lost a giant for the ages.”
The Prime Minister went on to note that Fidel’s global outreach through his humanitarian assistance, including a medical brigade “the people of ‘Nuestra America’ and the globe owe an unpayable debt to the Commander-in-Chief.”
The government of Cuba has declared 9 days of mourning for the fallen former President.
