Prime Minister Barrow is back home “feeling much better”
Belmopan, CAYO. Monday, December 12, 2016. Prime Minister Dean Barrow is back home following undergoing medical assessments in the Unites States.
A brief statement issued on his arrival from New York, quotes Prime Minister Barrow as saying that he is happy to be back home and feeling fully recovered.
The PM initially traveled to the U.S. for talks with Belize’s bond holders on restructuring the debt.
While in New York, abdominal discomforts persisted and he had to be admitted for an overnight at a hospital.
Tests were done; the government statement said that the results indicated a lesion on the Prime Minister’s colon.
A biopsy was carried out, and the government statement says that the results are expected by the end of this week.
It notes that the doctors in New York believe the lesion is an ulcer and nothing cancerous.
