Belmopan, CAYO. Monday, January 9, 2017. The first sitting of the House of Representatives for 2017 will take place on Friday, January 13.

The sitting will feature the debut of the new Speaker, Laura Longsworth, taking over from Michael Peyrifitte who has been promoted to the Upper House of Parliament – the Senate – and appointed as Attorney General and Minister of Legal Affairs.

Friday’s Special Sitting of the House of Representatives takes place inside of the National Assembly Chambers and begins at 10 a.m.
