Police seek Orange Walk man in murder investigation
Orange Walk Town, ORANGE WALK. Monday, February 27, 2017. A 25 year old man from San Roman village in the Orange Walk district is wanted by police, pending a murder investigation.
This follows a stabbing incident on Saturday night in the same village, which claimed the life of 54 year old Marcelino Chan.
According to a police report, Chan was stabbed multiple times, including to the chest.
Investigations show that around 8:30 pm on Saturday, Chan was socializing at a friend’s house and as he left to go home, was attacked as he walked on a street in the village.
The official police report say Chan was attacked with a knife and he was taken to thee Northern Regional Hospital where he was pronounced dead around 8:40 pm on Saturday.
Police say they are now pursuing 25 year old Mario Aguirre of San Roman village for the crime of murder as their investigation continues.
