Fatal traffic accident on the Placencia Road

Wednesday, March 1. 2017. Placencia, STANN CREEK. Four people perished in a road traffic accident on the Placencia Road early this morning.

The incident happened sometime after 5 am about three miles from the Placencia junction.

Preliminary information received says that the vehicle, and F-150 pickup truck, crashed into a lamppost.

The resulting impact apparently caused the post and high-tension wires to fall unto the pickup truck, which burst into flames.

The occupants of the pickup truck, believed to have been four persons, perished.

Their bodies, according to preliminary reports, were burnt beyond recognition.

Investigators, including personnel from the National Fire Service, are now at the area processing the accident scene

The identities of the occupants of the vehicle have not yet been determined.
