Fatal RTA on the Hummingbird Highway

Dangriga, STANN CREEK. Thursday, March 9, 2017. There was a fatal road traffic accident this afternoon on the Hummingbird Highway in the Stann Creek district.

The victim of the mid-afternoon crash has been identified as Rubi Analicia Briceno.

According to reports, Briceno was a passenger in a pickup truck that was attempting to overtake a parked vehicle near mile 9 and a half on what is known as the Stann Creek Valley Road when the vehicle clipped another pickup truck, went out of control and overturned.

None of the drivers suffered any major injuries.

Police have served both drivers with Notices of Intended Prosecution. Investigations continue.
