Over 500 men and women to graduate from U.B.
Punta Gorda, TOLEDO. Thursday, June 22, 2017. The University of Belize is this weekend conferring diplomas at the Bachelor’s Associate’s and Certificate levels on over 500 men and women.
Commencement Exercises are scheduled for Saturday in Belmopan and on Sunday in Punta Gorda town.
The majority of the UB graduates this year, 190 according to an official statement, are from the Faculty of Education and Arts.
The Faculty of Management and Social Sciences will see 151 graduates; 117 from the Faculty of Science and Technology and 72 from the Faculty of Nursing, Allied Health and Social Work.
33 of this year’s graduands are getting Certificates, having taken part in the “Improving the Quality and Relevance of Early Childhood and Secondary Education” project.
This project, conducted in the northern part of the country, was funded by the European Union and carried out by the University of Belize in partnership with government.
The UB graduates will be addressed on Saturday by Belize City Mayor Darrel Bradley.
On Sunday, the guest speaker is Dr. Elizabeth Cardenas.
The theme for this year’s Commencement Exercises for the University of Belize is: “Let’s Build UB Together.”
