Alleged robber shot and killed in San Pedro
The body of a man believed to have been part of a trio that attempted an armed robbery on Sunday night in San Pedro town, was found this morning.
24 year old San Pedro resident Kirian Azueta reported to police that he arrived home around 10:15 pm on Sunday and was accosted by three men as he was about to open his gate.
Azueta gave police a full description of his assailants, both of whom wore hooded sweaters and had their faces covered.
One of the men reportedly pointed a pistol in Azueta’s face and reportedly ordered him not to move or reach for his gun.
The gunman reportedly fired a shot but missed.
That gave Azueta enough time to reach for his weapon and return fire.
While the gunman fell to the ground, his alleged accomplices fled into nearby bushes.
Police in San Pedro say they have retrieved a black hooded-type sweater with “Texas Tech” marking on the front, a black warm hat and have detained a 44 year old man from the San Juan area as their investigation continues.
Police further reported that around 8 am today, they found the body of a man matching the description of the would-be robber in the DFC area of San Pedro town.
