San Pedro Town. Sunday, May 3, 2015. For the second time in a week, the murder of a cab driver has shocked the municipality of San Pedro Town on Ambergris Caye.

The body of 42 year old Dionisio Trujillo was discovered around 9 am today in the Marina Area of San Pedro town.

Reports say apparent stab wounds were seen on Trujillo’s body and his taxi car was found in the area.

A motive for this latest murder of a taxi driver has not yet been ascertained, but it is suspected that Trujillo’s death may have been as a result of an attempted robbery.

There have been no arrests as yet, but police have detained some persons pending their ongoing investigation.
