Belize falls to Costa Rica: 3-0
Belmopan, CAYO. Sunday, January 15, 2017. The Belize Jaguars went into today’s match against Costa Rica with an added bounce in their steps having played to a nil-nil draw with Panama in the first game on Friday night.
But on Sunday at the Rommel Fernandez Stadium in Panama City, the Belize Jaguars ran into an insurmountable Costa Rican football team.
Costa Ricans Jose Ortiz first shook the net at the twenty fifth minute of play.
Johan Venegas put Costa Rica up 2-0 in the fifty first minute and Jose Ortiz scored Costa Rica’s third goal in the sixty fifth minute.
Belize’s next outing will see the Belize Jaguars going up against El Salvador.
The standings right now show Costa Rica leading with 4 points. Honduras is next with 3 points. Belize, Panama and El Salvador each have 1 point.
Nicaragua is yet to score a point in the 2017 Central American Cup tournament.
