Belize High School of Agriculture gets grant from Japan
Orange Walk Town, ORANGE WALK. Saturday, March 12, 2016. The Belize High School of Agriculture is getting assistance to expand its classroom facilities in the Orange Walk district.
On Friday, the government of Japan, through its embassy in Belize, signed a Grassroots Human Security Grant Contract with the educational institution.
The contract is for US$90,804 and will cover the construction of a new twp classroom building, including a library.
This added classroom space is expected to a go a long way in alleviating overcrowding that the BHSA is faced with.
It currently has a student enrollment of 233 and a staff compliment of 15 teachers.
Among the dignitaries that were present at Friday’s contract signing at the Belize High School of Agriculture were Minister of Education Patrick Faber and Honorary Consul General of Japan Monty Sadarangani.
The Belize High School of Agriculture was established in 1984.
