Belize promotes diplomatic representative in Taiwan
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of China, Taiwan has announced that the Charge d’Affaires at Belize’s embassay in Taipei has been promoted to the post of ambassador.
A report in the online edition of The China Post newspaper says that Cherie Nisbet presented a copy of her letter of credence to Taiwan’s Foreign Affairs Minister David Lin on September 16.
Ambassador designate Nisbet is expected to formally present her credentials to President Ma Ying-jeou shortly, at which time she will officially assume the post of ambassador, according to the newspaper report.
Nisbet, the newspaper reports, has been Belize’s Charge d’Affaires in the Republic of China, Taiwan since August 2011.
