Belize to host CARICOM meeting on agriculture
Belmopan, CAYO. Tuesday, September 24, 2019. Belize will play host to a Caribbean Community meeting that will focus on Agriculture on September 30 and October 1, 2019.
Representatives of various CARICOM institutions will gather in Belize next week for the twelfth edition of the Regional Agricultural Planners’ Forum.
The event is being held under the theme “capitalizing on the new frontier in global agriculture.”
According to a press release issued today, the discussion at the two-day meeting will focus on information and communication technologies and agriculture, cannabis and agriculture; the regional suga industry and climate change and agriculture.
The forum participants will alsop discuss women and youth involvement in agriculture and what is called the “blue economy.”
Next week’s agriculture meeting in belize is being organized by the CARICOM Secretariat and has the support of the Government of Belize, regionals institutions and partner organizations, the United Nations Agriculture and Food Organization and the Caribbean Development Bank.
