Belmopan duo arrested on drug trafficking charges

Two Belmopan residents have been arrested on drug trafficking charges.
They are Omar Avelar, 20 and Tina Gabourel, 28.
According to police reports, officers conducted a search of Avelar’s home on Antelope Street in Belmopan on Thursday morning.
During the search, police say they found 37 grams of suspected marijuana and 2 grams of crack cocaine.
Both Avelar and Gabourel were charged for the crime of drug trafficking.
Avelar was additionally charged for the offence of possession of controlled drugs.
