By Patrick E. Jones on November 19, 2015
Belmopan, CAYO. Thursday, November 19, 2015. A man from the Las Flores area of Belmopan died in a road traffic incident this afternoon on the Hummingbird Highway.
47 year old Lucas Ayala sustained massive head and body injuries when he was knocked off his bicycle between miles 54 and 55 on the Hummingbird highway.
The incident happened just after 1 pm and Ayala died at the scene.
Initial information received says that the vehicle that hit Ayala was being driven at the time by a police constable attached to the Belmopan sub-station.
The preliminary information suggests that Ayala swerved into the path of the policeman’s vehicle.
Investigations continue.
