Brian Hyde gets life sentences for killing family members
A judge today handed down the sentence.
According to News Press “A six-member jury found Hyde, 22, of Belize, guilty of four counts of second degree murder in the killing of 19-year-old Michael Deon Kelly Jr., his girlfriend, 17-year-old Starlette Pitts, and her mother, 37-year-old Dorla Pitts on Aug. 11, 2015.”
News Press also reported:
“The April trial lasted five days and it took jury members more than three hours to decide.
Hyde, who was also found guilty in the death of Kelly’s and Starlette Pitts’ unborn child, used a machete to kill the victims. They were found dead in their home after a family friend went to check on them.
Hyde was arrested after he was pulled over by a Fort Myers police officer who spotted him driving erratically in Dorla Pitts’ white Range Rover.”
