Businessman accused of shooting store patron

An Orange Walk businessman has been detained pending the outcome of a police investigation following the shooting of one of his patrons.
The victim has been identified as Erwin Hernandez, 26, a resident of the Santa Rita Layout area of Corozal town.
Police say that on Wednesday evening, Hernandez was socializing at a store in San Jose village, Orange Walk, when he got into an argument with the proprietor Zhi Lian Zhang.
Police say that during the argument, Zhi Lian Zhang took out is licensed 12-gauge shotgun and fired a single shot, hitting Hernandez in the left hand.
Police investigations continue.
