Camalote hosts softball competition games
Camalote, CAYO. Monday, April 25, 2016. The Denbigh Fuller Stadium in Camalote village was the venue on Sunday for exciting softball games in the ongoing Raymond Garbutt Cayo Senior Females Softball Competition.
In the opening game, Belmopan Capital City Emeralds fell to their arch rivals Belmopan Bandits by a score of 9 to 1.
The highlight of the game was a 2-run home run by Lozanne Selgado of the Bandits.
The winning pitcher was Lanisha Jones; while Dominga Tut takes the loss.
In game two on the card, Unitedville Rebels United made quick work of the Esperanza Wolverines, defeating them by as core of ten runs to three in five innings.
Winning pitcher is Nikita Perez, while Shareenie Soberanis picks up the loss.
In the final game of the day, the home team Camalote United lost to Roaring Creek Grace Kennedy by a score of nine runs to three.
The winning pitcher was Leandra Guy, while Kenesha Sutherland is credited with the loss.
The competition takes a break this weekend for the National Agriculture and Trade Show.
When play resumes in two weeks time, the venue will be in Roaring Creek on Mother’s Day.
