Cayo North elects Omar Figueroa

VICTORY UDPThe people of Cayo North have elected Dr. Omar Figueroa as their new area representative.  

Figueroa blew out his opponent Richard Harrison of the People’s United Party by over a thousand votes.  

The official figures show that Figueroa got 2,664 votes or 60.81% of the total votes cast.  Harrison received 1,348 votes or 33.60% of the votes cast.  

51 ballots were rejected.  

In his first interview as the elected area representative for Cayo North, Figueroa said he had no doubt about the victory and that the people of Cayo North have spoken and they have spoken loud and clear.

Omar Figueroa will be sworn in as the Cayo North area representative shortly and debut on the floor of the House when the lower house of parliament meets in Belmopan.
