Cayo youth graduate from GREAT program
Georgeville, CAYO. Thursday, May 3, 2018. A group of 120 boys and girls from the villages of Georgeville, Central Farm and Unitedville in the Cayo district today graduated from the police’s GREAT program.
GREAT stands for Gang Resistance Education and Training, was was implemented in Belize as a violence reduction initiative targeting young people.
Today’s graduating class featured students from the St Hilda anglican in Georgeville, St. Barnabas Anglican in Central Farm and St. Vincent Pallotti from Unitedville.
The participants in this cohort included students from the middle division of each school.
One of the primary facilitators, Police Constable Ciriaco Medina spoke with reporters about the program following the graduation today which was held in Georgeville village.
