Cocaine found on domestic flight
Belize City, BELIZE. Wednesday, March 23, 2016. Police in Belize City have retrieved over a pound of cocaine from a domestic flight that landed at the Municipal Airstrip on Monday evening.
Members of the Gang Suppression Unit, (GSU), went to the airstrip, based on information received and conducted a search of the Tropic Air plane that arrived from Punta Gorda town.
Inside of a handbag in thee tail section of the plane, the GSU found two small parcels wrapped in transparent tape, which contained “a white powdery substance” believed to be cocaine.
When it was weighed, the “white powdery substance” tipped the scale at 528 grams or 1.2 pounds.
Since no one claimed the bag, the GSU took the bag with the cocaine and labeled it as “found property.”
The GSU believes that when the Tropic Air plane made a scheduled stop in Placencia village, Stann Creek, the bag with the cocaine was to have been picked up, but apparently the person who was supposed to do the pickup missed the flight and the bag continued on to Belize City where authorities retrieved it.

Classic decoy ploy and they fell for it. They were informed of this small bundle (probably baby laxative) hell maybe they were in on it. Meanwhile 1,000 lbs of pure coke was trafficked elsewhere nearby while they were preoccupied.
