Corozal woman says radio announcer raped her
A woman from Corozal has reported that she was raped, allegedly by a radio announcer.
The victim, an 18 year old woman, told police that around 9:30 pm on November 20, she went to the radio station located in the Rainbow Town area of Corozal where she met her alleged attacker.
The announcer, identified as Michael Martinez, according to the woman, promised to give her some answers to questions that he would ask during a giveaway program on the radio station.
She says that when she went to the studio to talk with Martinez, he instead pushed her into a back room in the building where he had sexual intercourse with her against her will.
Police say that a medical examination has confirmed that the 18 year old was carnally known. Police have since arrested and charged Michael Martinez, 37, for the crime of rape.
