CWU names prominent attorney as interim President
By Patrick E. Jones on December 12, 2013
The Christian Workers Union (CWU) has named attorney-at-law Audrey Matura-Shepherd as its interim president.
A General Assembly of the embattled CWU is scheduled for this coming weekend at which time the general membership comprising various entities, including the Belize Social Security Board and the Stevedores, are expected to endorse Matura-Shepherd as president of the CWU.
Matura-Shepherd’s elevation to the post of CWU President is expected to be key in returning the group to full membership in the National Trade Union Congress of Belize, NTUCB.
