Cyclist knocked down and killed in Corozal
Corozal town, COROZAL. Wednesday, January 18, 2017. A man was knocked down and killed on Tuesday night between miles 67 and 68 on the Phillip Goldson Highway in the Corozal district.
The victim has not yet been positively identified.
The driver of the passenger bus that hit the deceased told police that the cyclist swerved into his path and that right side of the bus hit the man.
The impact of the collision, according to police completely damaged the beach cruiser bicycle and caused fatal injuries to the rider.
Both the bus and the cyclist were heading towards Santa Clara village at the time of the collision.
A post mortem examination is pending and an investigation by police is ongoing.
