Detainee shot in the leg
Orange Walk Town, OW. Thursday, May 7, 2020. An Orange Walk man was shot in the left leg by police on Wednesday morning.
The victim, Edmund Bull, 21, a resident of Guinea Grass village, was being escorted to the Orange Walk police station when he made a dash for freedom from custody.
The official police report says that an officer who was in the immediate area took aim and fired a single shot at the fleeing Bull, hitting him in the left leg.
Bull was taken to the Northern Regional Hospital for treatment. He was listed in stable condition.
According to the official police bulletin, Bull was detained pending a charge for damage to property. Now he will have at least one other charge added to the initial complaint.
Meanwhile, as is the case whenever there is a shooting involving a police officer, an investigation into the incident has commenced.
