Duo busted with suspected marijuana in their car
Two people are in police detention today after they were busted, allegedly with marijuana in their car.
The bust happened around 6:15 pm on Tuesday on the George Price Highway near to the Ministry of Works Compound in Santa Elena town.
According to reports received, police on mobile patrol intercepted a car, described as a Mitsubishi Gallant.
Sources say that a search of the vehicle led to the discovery of 21.5 pounds of marijuana. Leonel Anthony Smith, 28 and Lucette Lisbey, 30 were arrested and charged for the crime of drug trafficking.
The duo was arraigned in the San Ignacio Magistrate’s Court this morning where they both pleaded not guilty.
Smith and Lisbey were offered bail of $3,000 and ordered to return to court on Friday, February 5, 2014.
