Farmers go on field day in Central Farm
Central Farm, CAYO. Thursday, February 11, 2016. the Ministry of Agriculture today hosted a Field Day on the seed production of corn and beans at the Central Farm Crop Unit Production Plot.
The purpose of the Field day was to showcase the technological package in quality seed production of open pollinated corn and beans.
A government press release explains that the participants in today’s field day were the main stakeholders of the project, which consisted of farmers from the Toledo, Stann Creek and Cayo Districts.
It is expected that from the experience gained at the field day, farmers will adopt good agriculture practices in seed production and thus improve productivity and quality of corn and beans in their business enterprise.
