Fatal traffic accident in Hicatee village, Toledo

Punta Gorda town, Toledo. Sunday, June 7, 2015. A traffic accident on the Southern Highway late on Saturday night has claimed the life of a man and left a woman hospitalized in Belize City.

73 year old Isidoro Galvez died at the scene when the pickup truck he was driving flipped several times near mile 20 on the Southern Highway in Hicatee village, Toledo.

Forty six year old Margarita Cal who was a passenger in the vehicle sustained a wound to her right leg.

Cal was taken first to the Southern Regional Hospital in Dangriga for medical treatment and was later transferred to the Karl Heusner Memorial in Belize City.

The body of Isidoro Calvez now lies at the morgue at the Southern Regional Hospital where it awaits a post mortem examination.

Police investigations continue.
