Fire guts residence in Caye Caulker village

Caye Caulker, BELIZE DISTRICT. Saturday, September 21, 2019. An early-morning fire in Caye Caulker village today gutted a two-storey building that was the housed the residence of Fidel Magaña and family.
According to reports from the island village, the fire broke out around 12:30 am on Avenida Langosta.
Reports are that residents of the village worked in concert with the local fire department to contain the fire preventing further destruction.
Two other nearby buildings sustained fire damage.
Investigators are now on scene trying to determine the cause of the fire.
The Magaña family lost all of their belongings in this morning’s blaze.
