Fire guts resort in San Pedro town
Police have issued an official bulletin on the destruction of the at Ramon’s Village Resort in san Pedro town on Tuesday night.
According to police a total of 28 units were completely gutted by the fire which broke out around 8 pm.
The cause of the fire is not yet known, but police say that initial investigation reveals that the origin of the blaze is the rooftop of Unit 5.
The massive fire consumed the laundry room, kitchen, gift shop, bar, office and three store rooms, according to the police.
All of the structures that were destroyed were made of Pimento, hardwood, sheet-rock casing and thatch roof.
Police say the value of the resort is US$8 million .
No one was injured during the event and police investigations continue.
