Flooding affecting Toledo villages
Reports from Jacintoville this morning indicated that several feet of water was on the San Felipe road at its junction with the Southern Highway.
A photograph provided by area resident Mark Miller showed the extent of the flooding on the San Felipe road earlier on Tuesday.
Similarly, the bridge leading into San Pedro Columbia village had several feet of water this morning.
Further inland flooding was also reported in Aguacate and Crique Sarco villages.
Residents along the Pappy Show road in Elridge village also experienced some flooding due to heavy rainfall overnight.
Officials of the Toledo branch of the National Emergency Management Organization, NEMO, have confirmed the flooding incidents and say the situation is being monitored.
None of these flooding events are life-threatening and residents are being asked to monitor weather reports issued by the Belize Weather Bureau.
