Monday, December 28, 2015. San Ignacio, CAYO. Kimberly Locke: News has been received of the death former Attorney General Bernard Quentin Augustus Pitts.

The veteran attorney served in various capacities in the public service during his career including as the judiciary where he served as a Traveling Magistrate.

Among the accolades on his Resume, B.Q. Pitts was appointed as the Speaker of the House of Representatives during the Esquivel Administration from 1993-1998.

After that appointment, B.Q. Pitts went on to become the first Attorney General to be named to the post from outside of the National Assembly, from 2010 to 2012.

According to reports B.Q. Pitts, who was 80 years old at the time of his passing, suffered a stroke in mid-December, from which he never recovered.

Late this evening TNC News was informed that Pitts will be afforded a State Funeral.  He was the father of six.
