From Cayo North to the PM Office
Four days ago, Omar Figueroa blew out Richard Harrison to win the bye election and become the area representative for the Cayo North division.
Today, it was announced that even before he takes his seat in the House of Representatives, Figueroa will get a seat in the Prime Minister’s Office as a Minister of State.
A government press release announced that Prime Minister Dan Barrow, at a special meeting with Ministers, informed them that he will be appointing Figueroa as a Minister of State in the Prime Minister’s Office.
The official release says that Figueroa will be sworn in on Monday by the Governor General, Sir Colville Young.
He is expected to take the oath of office as a member of parliament, in this case the House of Representatives, when that body holds its next meeting at the National Assembly Building in Belmopan.
