Gian Chand Ghandi passes away
Belmopan, Belize. Monday, August 17, 2015. Career public servant Senior Counsel Gian Chand Ghandi, 82, has died.
Ghandi who served in various capacities in the Belize Public Service, including most recently at the Legal Counsel in the Ministry of Finance, passed away in Belmopan today following a long illness.
According to a release from the office of the Prime Minister, “Mr. Gandhi has had a long and distinguished career in the Service of the Government of Belize having served for over 37 years in various capacities such as Crown Counsel, Director of Public Prosecutions, Solicitor General, and most recently as Legal Counsel in the Ministry of Finance.”
No date for the funeral for Mr. Ghandi has been announced.
Prior to coming to Belize, Mr. Gandhi worked as a legal officer in the British Public Service in the Departments of Trade and Health and Social Services.
He is survived by one sister and two brothers.

RIP Mr. Ghandi – I will definitely miss you but I’m glad I was able to see you on my list visit. Belize lost a great man and I lost a great friend.
